Practice Paddle:
Develop and refine your skills as we venture out into the river where we’ll encounter stronger currents and boat traffic. Enhance your awareness of our paddling environment as we work on boat control while hopping from embayment to embayment.
Length: 2 hours
Cost: $100
Uptown Paddle:
Develop your paddling stamina and fine-tune your boat control as we paddle north, either with or against the current. (We’ll always return with the current in our favor.) See the cityscape from a new perspective as you experience the energy of the river first-hand. The strength and direction of the current will determine the difficulty of this paddle, and they will be rated accordingly.
Length: 2 hours
Cost: $100
River Crossing:
Gain a fuller understanding of the challenges of paddling in New York Harbor as we safely negotiate our way across the river to the New Jersey side. We’ll encounter significant amounts of boat traffic as well as full exposure to currents and winds as we experiment with utilizing ranges to determine course and practice ferrying techniques. We’ll briefly explore the Morris Canal before returning to Pier 40.
Length: 2 hours
Cost: $100
ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE TOURS
Statue of Liberty:
Take the tour that’s number-one on almost every paddler’s wish list as we visit our famous Lady in the harbor. (We’ll get as close to the Statue as USCG security zones allow.) Along the way, we’ll also pass historic Ellis Island. The waters around these islands are notorious for their “washing-machine” effect, so be ready for a bumpy ride. But the view is one you’ll never forget.
Length: 3 hours
Cost: $150
Admire the developing Hudson River Park as we paddle four miles north along the West Side waterfront to the 79th Street Boat Basin in Riverside Park before returning to Pier 40. Fine-tune that all-important forward stroke and learn techniques to manage crossing busy ferry and cruise ship embayments.
Length: 3 hours
Cost: $150
